Ansermanuevo

Ansermanuevo is a coffee-growing municipality in northern Valle del Cauca, set on the foothills of the Western Andes. Its name evokes the city of Anserma in Caldas, from where the Antioqueño settlers who founded it came, combined with 'nuevo' (new) to mark its own identity. Agriculture — coffee, plantain and livestock — underpins local life, and its paisa-influenced architecture preserves the quiet, rural character typical of northern Valle del Cauca municipalities.
