Building a better world through sport
The world's largest network of cities of sport, active across the American continent.
Since 1999, ACES has promoted sport as a tool for health, social cohesion and development for all citizens. In the Americas, the network recognises every year the capitals, cities, provinces, communities and towns that turn sport into real public policy — and connects them in a continental community that shares best practices and multiplies its impact.
The American chapter began with era-defining milestones: in 2019, Santiago de Cali (Colombia) was named the first American Capital of Sport, and in 2020, Guadalajara (Mexico) became the first city in the Americas to hold the title of World Capital of Sport. Today, with the support of organisations such as UNESCO, the OAS, CADE and CID, ACES forms the world's largest network of cities of sport: more than 6,000 cities and towns in over 50 countries.
