About the city
Arenzano is a coastal town in the metropolitan city of Genoa, in Liguria, on the Riviera di Ponente, very close to the Ligurian capital. With some 11,000 inhabitants, it is a tourist and residential destination facing the Tyrrhenian Sea, with a seafront and a nature park in the hinterland, the Beigua Regional Natural Park, which rises towards the Ligurian mountains. Its combination of sea and mountain favours water sports and hiking. Arenzano was recognised by ACES Europe as European Town of Sport 2014, a title reserved for municipalities of fewer than 25,000 inhabitants, which places it within the broad Italian representation of the ACES network.
