About the city
Auronzo di Cadore is a town in the province of Belluno, in the Veneto, located in the heart of the Dolomites, the spectacular mountain range declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, beside Lake Santa Caterina. It is the gateway to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, one of the most iconic mountain groups in the Alps. With a tradition tied to the mountains, it is a consolidated destination for hiking, mountaineering and winter sports, and in summer it hosts the pre-season of professional football teams. Auronzo di Cadore was recognised by ACES Europe as European Town of Sport 2021, a title reserved for municipalities of fewer than 25,000 inhabitants, which places it within the broad Italian representation of the ACES network.
