About the city
Bassano del Grappa is a city in the province of Vicenza, in the Veneto, located on the banks of the river Brenta, at the foot of the Monte Grappa massif, in the pre-Alpine area of the north of the region. With more than 43,000 inhabitants, it is famous for its Ponte degli Alpini, the historic covered wooden bridge designed by Palladio, for its grappa — the spirit to which it gives its name — and for its artistic ceramics.
