About the city

Bellaria-Igea Marina is a coastal town in the province of Rimini, in Emilia-Romagna, in the heart of the Romagna Riviera, the great tourist coast of the Italian Adriatic. With just over 17,000 inhabitants, it lives on beach tourism: its long stretch of sand, its promenades and its hotel offer make it a consolidated summer destination on the Adriatic coast. Its seafront is a natural space for outdoor sport, from coastal cycling to beach activities. Bellaria-Igea Marina was recognised by ACES Europe as European Town of Sport 2011, a title reserved for municipalities of fewer than 25,000 inhabitants, which places it within the broad Italian representation of the ACES network.
