About the city
Busca is a town in the province of Cuneo, in Piedmont, located in the valley of the river Maira, at the foot of the Cottian Alps, in the south-west of the region. With just over 5,000 inhabitants, it is a municipality of agricultural tradition in a setting of valleys and pre-Alpine hills. Its nearby mountain geography favours hiking, cycling and outdoor activities. Busca was recognised by ACES Europe as European Town of Sport 2010, a title reserved for municipalities of fewer than 25,000 inhabitants, which places it within the broad Italian representation of the ACES network.
