About the city
Cardano al Campo is a town in the province of Varese, in Lombardy, located in the plain of the Alto Milanese, very close to Milan-Malpensa airport. With just over 14,000 inhabitants, it is a municipality of the dense industrial and residential area of north-western Lombardy, between Milan and Lake Maggiore. Cardano al Campo was recognised by ACES Europe as European Town of Sport 2023, a title reserved for municipalities of fewer than 25,000 inhabitants that rewards local sports policy as a tool of cohesion and public health, and which places it within the broad Italian representation of the ACES network.
