About the city

Dolo is a town in the metropolitan city of Venice, in the Veneto, located on the Brenta, on the Riviera del Brenta, the historic river route between Venice and Padua famous for its Venetian villas. With just over 8,000 inhabitants, it preserves old mills and locks tied to its past as a stop on river navigation, in a setting of patrician villas. Its canal and plain favour cycling and rowing. Dolo was recognised by ACES Europe as European Town of Sport 2013, a title reserved for municipalities of fewer than 25,000 inhabitants, which places it within the broad Italian representation of the ACES network.
