About the city
Ginebra is a municipality in central Valle del Cauca on the foothills of the Central Andes, known throughout Colombia as the home of the Mono Núñez Festival, the country's most important Andean music event. Each June, musicians and enthusiasts from across Latin America gather here to celebrate bambuco, torbellino and other traditional Andean rhythms. Its economy combines agriculture — coffee, cane and fruit — with the cultural and nature tourism generated by its privileged geographic position.
