About the city
Gozzano is a municipality in the Province of Novara, Piedmont, nestled in the hills surrounding Lake Orta at 367 metres above sea level. Home to just over 5,500 inhabitants, the town combines a long history — with Bronze Age remains and a strong religious tradition tied to the evangelising saints Julius and Julian — with a vibrant contemporary sports culture. Gozzano hosts a football club affiliated with the Italian Football Federation since 1924, a rowing school on the lake, and the highest regulation diving platform in Europe set in lake waters, built in 1954.
