About the city
La Victoria is a municipality in northern Valle del Cauca, bordering Obando to the north and La Unión to the south, in the heart of the department's coffee-growing subregion. Its economy rests on hillside agriculture — coffee, plantain and livestock — and its small size gives it a deeply rural and communal character. Social life revolves around the main square and patron saint festivities, which keep alive the paisa identity ties typical of this northern strip of Valle del Cauca.
