About the city
Miguel Hidalgo is one of Mexico City's sixteen boroughs (alcaldías), located in the western part of the capital, with a population of 414,470 residents according to the 2020 census. Its 46.8 km² territory encompasses some of the city's most iconic neighborhoods — Polanco, Lomas de Chapultepec, Tacuba and Tacubaya — and is home to Chapultepec Forest, the largest urban forest in the Americas and a key space for sport and community recreation. Standing out within this privileged environment is the Centro Deportivo Chapultepec, founded in 1894, offering tennis, swimming, frontón and squash facilities with over a century of service to sport. With 17 events and 2,550 registered participants in ACES Activa, Miguel Hidalgo is the most active borough for organized sport in the entire Mexican programme.
