About the city
Monte di Procida is a town in the province of Naples, in Campania, located at the north-western tip of the Phlegraean Fields, the volcanic area west of Naples, facing the Tyrrhenian Sea across from the islands of Procida and Ischia. With almost 13,000 inhabitants, it is a coastal municipality with a strong seafaring tradition, with panoramic views over the gulf. Its seafront and coastal setting link it to water and outdoor sports. Monte di Procida was recognised by ACES Europe as European Town of Sport 2023, a title reserved for municipalities of fewer than 25,000 inhabitants, which places it within the broad Italian representation of the ACES network.
