About the city
Omegna is a town in the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, in Piedmont, located at the northern tip of Lake Orta, in a pre-Alpine setting in the north of the region. With almost 15,000 inhabitants, it is a historic industrial centre famous for its factories of designer kitchenware and utensils, cradle of internationally renowned firms in this sector. Its lakeside and mountainous location favours water sports and hiking. Omegna was recognised by ACES Europe as European Town of Sport 2019, a title reserved for municipalities of fewer than 25,000 inhabitants, which places it within the broad Italian representation of the ACES network.
