Orbassano is a town in the metropolitan city of Turin, in Piedmont, located in the first metropolitan ring south-west of the regional capital, in the Turin plain. With almost 22,000 inhabitants, it is a residential and industrial municipality of the Turin metropolitan area, well connected with the capital. Orbassano was recognised by ACES Europe as European Town of Sport 2016, a title reserved for municipalities of fewer than 25,000 inhabitants that rewards local sports policy as a tool of cohesion and public health, and which places it within the broad Italian representation of the ACES network.
