About the city
Riofrío is a municipality in central Valle del Cauca at 1,746 metres altitude on the foothills of the Western Andes, just a few kilometres from Trujillo. Its name evokes the cold waters that descend from the Andean summits, and its economy is based on coffee, mid-altitude fruit crops and hillside livestock farming. The municipality is part of the tourist corridor of the north-central Valle, with mountain landscapes, natural viewpoints and a paisa rural identity that its inhabitants preserve with pride.
