About the city
Santa Ana is a municipality in the department of Francisco Morazán, located near Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras, with a population of approximately 17,600 inhabitants. Its territory of around 66 km² combines rural areas and peri-urban zones that are gradually merging into the metropolitan fabric of the capital. The community maintains strong ties to its local traditions while benefiting from the proximity to the services, sports infrastructure and educational opportunities offered by Tegucigalpa. Football, athletics and outdoor recreational activities form the backbone of sporting life in the municipality, driven by a young and active population that finds in sport a powerful space for social cohesion.
