About the city

Sevilla is a municipality in north-eastern Valle del Cauca, founded in 1903, situated at 1,612 metres above sea level with an average temperature of 20°C. Its inclusion in the Coffee Cultural Landscape — declared a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site in 2011 — gives it unique international recognition. With more than 15,000 hectares dedicated to coffee, Sevilla has established itself as the 'Coffee Capital of Colombia', also known as the 'Balcony of Valle del Cauca' and 'Capital of Culture and Intelligence of Valle del Cauca'.

Beyond its coffee significance, Sevilla is distinguished by an intense cultural calendar: the Departmental Coffee Queen pageant, the Bandola Festival and a Holy Week that is the most attended in the department draw thousands of visitors annually. This cultural richness and its temperate mountain climate offer an ideal setting for outdoor sport and community physical activity — values that Sevilla projects through its participation in the active health and citizen sport programmes promoted by ACES América.
