About the city
Yotoco is a municipality in central Valle del Cauca nicknamed 'Rey de los vientos' (King of the Winds) for the powerful winds that descend from the Calima reservoir across its territory. Beyond this singular climatic phenomenon, the municipality is home to the Yotoco Natural Reserve, one of the last fragments of tropical dry forest in the department and of great value for regional biodiversity conservation. Its economy combines sugar cane, livestock and fruit production, with growing ecotourism interest driven by its natural wealth.
