About the city
Yumbo is the municipality immediately north of Cali and the industrial capital of Colombia, with over 2,000 companies on its territory — including Cementos Argos, Bavaria, Goodyear and Johnson & Johnson — processing the bulk of Valle del Cauca's manufacturing output. Its history also sets it apart: in 1909 it was the first municipality in the country to have public electric street lighting. Despite its industrial profile, Yumbo has green and cultural spaces that enrich the lives of its more than 108,000 inhabitants.
