The welcome words of the Mayor and the Sport Councillor of the City of Marcon, Venice, Italy:
The year 2022 was the year that, more than any other, revealed how sport has now become an indispensable requirement for a large part of the citizenry.
Proof of this is the broad calendar of activities proposed for the European Week of Sport 2022 by the various sports associations of the area, ranging from artistic gymnastics, football, volleyball, fitness, yoga, skating and horse racing, not forgetting road races and simple organised walks, which offer the chance to play sports outdoors and in company, with great benefits for health.
Also because of this natural vitality, Marcon confirms itself as one of the most important sporting centres of the region.
It is a true honour for me to support and collaborate in the staging of sporting events with the numerous companies and associations operating in our area. Beyond the strictly sporting aspect, I would like to highlight how much attention is paid to the theme of inclusion, with the provision of numerous specialities also suitable for people with disabilities.
In Marcon, the number of new athletes increases year after year (and the European Week of Sport 2022 is the most outstanding example of this dynamism), and the Administration to which I belong certainly does not lag behind the requests, even for new sports facilities, useful for promoting the culture of movement and health.
