Madrid, 15 August 2025.- UCL TV España, the new Movistar+ channel (dial 143) that connects America and Europe, has joined forces with ACES -the Association of Capitals of Sport- to become media partner of the American Week of Sport (SAD) 2025. An event that will take place between the coming 23 and 30 September with the aim of promoting physical activity and the development of sport throughout America, fostering a healthier lifestyle that has a positive impact on people.
“Through physical activity we seek to generate a major social impact, improving quality of life and productivity, as well as reducing the medical costs arising from a sedentary lifestyle, stress and obesity. We want to promote social cohesion; and the practice of sport by women, reinforcing messages of gender equity,” explained the president and founder of ACES, Gian F. Lupattelli.

For his part, the president of the Board of UCL TV España, Jorge Brown, stated that “at our channel we are committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle and that is why we want to be present at the American Week of Sport. Moreover, the agreement with ACES will serve to provide greater visibility”.
With a solid presence in nearly 100 million households across fifteen Latin American countries and the backing of organisations such as CERTAL and the Organization of American States (OEA) -of which it is the official news channel-, UCL TV arrived in Spain last spring to reflect the richness and diversity of Ibero-America, with programming spanning news, music, sport, culture and entertainment.
UCL TV is more than a channel, it is a bridge between cultures. Its mission is to connect the Ibero-American audience in Spain with their roots, cultures and countries of origin. The channel can be viewed on platforms such as Movistar, Sol, Claro, DirecTV, Movistar América and Tigo, as well as on digital services such as Smart TV and UCL Go.
Now it is fully committing to the American Week of Sport 2025, in which a series of activities will take place across the entire American continent (competitions, independent events, outdoor exercise programmes and educational talks), for people of all ages and fitness levels.
The starting gun will be fired on 19 September in Zapopan (Jalisco, Mexico). ACES América recalls that the 2024 edition -the official inauguration took place in Chorrillos, Peru- was a resounding success, leaving historic figures:
-
Almost 5 million participants
-
1,963 events registered (an increase of 513.4% compared with 2023)
-
13 countries committed
-
64 participating cities, including capitals and highly dynamic municipalities
