Buenos Aires and Zapopan lead the 2027 cohort
The ACES registry already lists next year's two major titles: the World Capital and the American Capital of Sport 2027.

The official ACES awards registry already lists the two major titles for 2027: Buenos Aires (Argentina) will be World Capital of Sport 2027, and Zapopan (Mexico), American Capital of Sport 2027.
The World Capital of Sport follows the same format as the American and European capitals, with the backing of international organisations such as UNESCO, and positions the city holding it as a global reference for sport as public policy during its year in office.
With these designations, the American network chains its fourth consecutive cohort of capitals, following Guadalajara — the first American city to be World Capital of Sport, in 2020 — and confirms the continent's growing weight on the ACES map.
