Guayaquil has delivered an outstanding presentation of its title as American Capital of Sport 2026, reaffirming its commitment to sport as a tool for social transformation and urban development.

During the event, the social impact of sport was highlighted as the central axis of the city's sporting model. In this regard, Guayaquil has tripled its budget allocated to sport, betting decisively on the promotion of physical activity among young people, facilitating access to sporting practice and encouraging healthy lifestyle habits.
This strategy aims to prevent risky behaviour, strengthen social cohesion and consolidate sport as a driver of education, inclusion and wellbeing, aligned with the values that ACES promotes through its awards.
