The evaluation visit to San Juan, a candidate city for the title of American Capital of Sport 2027, was carried out successfully between 9 and 12 March, leaving a very positive impression on the ACES evaluation committee.

During the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to get to know some of the city's most representative and high-quality sports facilities, which demonstrate San Juan's firm commitment to sporting development, infrastructure and community engagement.
In addition, the evaluators attended several sporting events, experiencing at first hand the vibrant sporting culture and active citizen participation across different disciplines. The overall organisation, institutional support and enthusiasm shown throughout the visit were highly valued by the evaluators, confirming San Juan as a solid and well-prepared candidate for the title.
The process now moves on to the next phase, with Zapopan also a finalist city for 2027. The ACES evaluation team plans to visit Zapopan in May, where it will carry out a similar assessment before making the final decision on which city will receive the prestigious title of American Capital of Sport 2027.
ACES continues to highlight the importance of sport as a tool for social development, inclusion and international cooperation, and both candidate cities are excellent examples of these values in action.
